And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Deuteronomy 8:3
Over the past few weeks, I was becoming discontented with certain circumstances that I am in. I would hear different conference talks, that would annoy me because they were reflective of what I was going through, however, each of the talks would let me know that it is all in the Lord’s timing. As I was talking to Heidi one night, about an experience we had, she told me that “we are being fed manna.” In truth, we were being fed manna, and I had wanted more as I joked, “but I want quail.” From this I realized that there are times in our lives where the Lord is helping us learn His words. The circumstances that I am in are helping me learn more about Jesus’ Gospel, which I need to make the most of everyday. Because there will come a time when I won’t have this luxury. Like the Israelites and many others who have had circumstances where think they are being denied great things, but they soon learn in hindsight they were being prepared for even greater moments to come. That is something that I need to remember, I am being prepared for greater opportunities.
